It’s been a dream to have a platform, where all forms of design comes integrated, and where a shop with raw concrete and high ceilings would carry the work of art and design at it’s purest, raw form, bringing us back to the understanding of the fundamentals of design.
And Goblin Market reminded me of Dover Street Market, which I totally fell in love with, we I saw it in London.

To me, this shop was the epitome of where fashion meets art and architecture. And all it said to the consumers was ” Buy if you like it, and if you don’t get out” kind of attitude. Sporting brands like Fred Perry, Comme Des Garcons, Lutz, PLAY Comme Des Garcons, Rose Bakery , Commuun, Toga Archives and many more under one roof. It’s the place to shop, if you want to be almost the only one wearing what you are wearing.
While I appreciate in awe, the concept and idea behind the shop, by Rei Kawakubo. Where his aim was “to create a market where various creators from various fields gather together and encounter each other in an ongoing atmosphere of beautiful chaos: the mixing up and coming together of different kindred souls who all share a strong personal vision.”
Exactly the vision I seek.

If you were a fan of “Pimp my Ride” drooling at everyone of those racket cars, getting a shiny and most amazing makeover, where we were taught to appreciate the values and design of a older generation car, and if you are a lover of Vintage looks and Sports Cars of the 80’s, This MAZDA RX-7 would be a must see for you. Currently, the eye turner of our Street in Holland, with its one of a kind coat of Gold, and Razor sharp front, with eyes looking out at you, and asleep when parked in the porch, I would miss hearing this car roll by our streets once it gets sold. Our neighbour’s upgrading her car, and she’s looking into selling it at a snatch of only 16K Neg!

If I could handle checking blind spot, holding the clutch, accelerate, signal, check rear mirror and changing gears all at the same time, I would definitely buy this car. An avid mazda lover myself. Try it out!

Finally got my J key fixed on my laptop, and while I was at that, I was once again sucked into the Apple Frenzy. This time, I am wondering whether I should be getting the Iphone with accomodates 8 Gig of music at or the Ipod Classic, accomodating 80GB of music and getting a HTC Touch Dual as my handphone. This has surprisingly been my dilema for awhile now, I really couldn’t decide. I couldn’t figure whether I would need so much space for music, and thus I would have to pay more to have two items? Bites lips. Sigh. I am spoilt for choice.
HTC TOUCH FLO
HTC’s TouchFLO interface has been praised for its ease of use, but really it’s just an add-on to the existing Windows Mobile 6 operating system, unlike the iPhone which was designed for “finger use” from the ground up. Still, it’s much easier to use than the standard Microsoft operating system by itself. Windows Mobile 6 Professional is a pretty familiar operating system so we won’t dwell on that.
Other features on the HTC Touch Dual are a 2 megapixel primary camera, a secondary camera for video calling, microSD expandable memory to add to the 256MB of internal memory, and Bluetooth 2.0.
Downside :
- unavailable wifi function. Unlike HTC Touch.
- not as sexy or as heart thumping as IPHONE, though the closest match.
IPOD CLASSIC
iPod Classic
This is the much-awaited fifth generation iPod, which iPod has dubbed as Classic. This one’s sleeker, larger with an enhanced interface. The Classic takes over where the fourth generation ended and offers two models of 80 GB and 160 GB capacities, so you’re looking at 40,000 songs or nearly 200 hours of video. With an all-metal design, this one’s quite the modern classic.
Downside :
-160Gig sounds good when downloading, yet not a good news if it dies on you.
- Not a phone, purely a device for music.
- Having to lug a bagful of devices around.
IPHONE
iPhone is a revolutionary new mobile phone that allows users to make calls by simply pointing at a name or number. iPhone syncs all of your contacts from your PC, Mac or Internet service such as Yahoo!, so that you always have your full list of up-to-date contacts with you. In addition, you can easily construct a favorites list for your most frequently made calls, and easily merge calls together to create conference calls. iPhone includes an SMS application with a full QWERTY soft keyboard to easily send and receive SMS messages in multiple sessions. iPhone MP3 phone - Widescreen iPod
iPhone is a widescreen iPod with touch controls that lets music lovers “touch” their music by easily scrolling through entire lists of songs, artists, albums and playlists with just a flick of a finger. Album artwork is stunningly presented on iPhone’s large and vibrant display. iPhone also features Cover Flow, Apple’s amazing way to browse your music library by album cover artwork, for the first time on an iPod. When navigating your music library on iPhone, you are automatically switched into Cover Flow by simply rotating iPhone into its landscape position.
Apple iPhone multimedia phone - Display and Internet

It’s a Camera, a phone, a widescreen ipod, a multimedia phone, uses safari browser, with google map and sensor features and I could rant on and on…
Downside :
- Currently not launched in Singapore, needs crack code.
- Expensive due to it’s crazy market mark up.
- Not the latest software available here, due to Crack.
- Non Guranteed.
- Only 8 Gig of music memory.
While ranting, they are already soon launching the next IPHONE, the IPHONE NANO.
Technology’s really moving too fast!
Helmed by director Ivan Heng, who was the original Frankie Wong, this will be first time in 20 years that Beauty World has been given an overhaul. Writer Michael Chiang has penned new scenes and twists to the script, and composer Dick Lee has written 6 new songs. Musical Director Iskandar Ismail is working on creating a new sound for the musical’s 10 piece band, and choreography duo Ah Hock & Peng Yu will set the stage alight with new dance routines.
The new Beauty World Cabaret will be completely renovated by Canadian set designer John Dinning, with lighting by Mac Chan. Last but not least, Moe Kasim and Ashley Lim will be revamping the fashion of Singapore’s swinging sixties to dress and coiff the denizens of the night club.

Review :
I truly enjoyed myself, mesmerized by the wonderfully done set design, and even the lighting and effects were at it’s best. For a moment you would actually forget that it is actually a local production. Interesting casting. I thought Elena Wang, acting as Ivy Chan Poh Choo, has a really great voice. One could sense her well trained musical voice, alongside another talent to look out for, Dwayne Tan acting as Frankie Wong. Daren Tan the winner of Project superstar didn’t perform as well as the rest, but it was a good try forgivable for his non experience. But, Irene Ang whom was acting as Wan Choo, was indeed a good insert of humour into the entire play. Well directed Musical indeed. Listen hard for the “Ai ai ai IVY” song. and the “Say bye bye” son. Great laughs!
Just when in Singapore, we’ve not even gotten enough from raving about the iPhone that till now has not been legally launched yet, Apple has to to snigger and entice our tempted hearts with MACBOOK AIR. Apple has the last laugh again.
